Approach
Steve Rottman helps parties find solutions to disputes. While his approach varies between mediations, each encounter builds upon his commitment to exploring every avenue of resolution with honesty, remaining impartial, maintaining confidentiality and respect for the views of counsel and their clients. Steve is compassionate while candid. Expect to have a frank discussion about the merits presented, to be open about respective risks and rewards of litigation, and to be surprised by solutions reached.
BIOGRAPHY
Steve has an international reputation for his unique approach to the art of resolving commercial disputes. You may have to wait for a mediation date, but the odds of finding that elusive agreement are surprisingly high.
Steve graduated from Harvard Law School with honors and is a summa cum laude graduate of Duke University. He spent 20 years as a trial lawyer before committing full time to mediation. The Los Angeles Daily Journal named him one of the “top 50 neutrals in the state,” and he has been recognized consistently by “Best Lawyers in America” and the “Super Lawyer” publications as both a trial lawyer and mediator.
Steve lectures and trains mediators internationally and is an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. His courses have been described as “life-changing” and “frighteningly illuminating.”
